Fly & Light Tackle Fishing
Embark on an unparalleled fly fishing adventure unlike anything you have ever experienced. Specializing in targeting the prized Hawaiian Bonefish, known locally as ‘Ō’io, you will have the opportunity to encounter some of the largest Bonefish in the world.
The fishing here is challenging, offering a thrilling fight that culminates in an unmatched sense of accomplishment. Adhering to sustainable practices, all fishing is strictly catch and release, ensuring the preservation of these magnificent creatures for future generations.
Join us for a world-class fly fishing experience on Molokai, where the reward when successful is as fulfilling as the journey itself.
Trips average at least 4-6 hours with chances for longer days if conditions allow. This charter will focus mainly on shallow water fly fishing and sight casting along the Molokai flats.
Josiah offers top-quality fly fishing gear, but you're welcome to bring your own. A 8-9 weight fly rod is ideal.
Flies can be provided, though you’re welcome to bring your own. For those preferring spin or baitcast rods, artificial baits are available for sight fishing.
For spin gear, we recommend a 7'6" fast action rod, which allows for delicate and accurate pitching of lightweight jig heads and lures. Pair this with a high-quality 4K-5K reel and 15-20lb braid for optimal performance.

Bucks & Bones Outfitters is honored to collaborate with Pu'u O Hoku Ranch to offer exclusive hunts and premium lodging on a private 14,000-acre organic farm and ranch.

Ideal hunting season is March - July with peak rut taking place during June & July.
Offering Rifle and Archery guided hunts.
Hunts are conducted morning and evenings.
As part of Bucks & Bones partnership with Pu’u O Hoku Ranch, lodging is available for clients at a discounted rate. Ranch accommodations are private cottages (3-4 ppl) or exclusive access to the lodge (12 bedrooms).
Processing and packaging of meat are available through Bucks & Bones or Pu’u O Hoku Ranch. 2-day shipping is available through the ranch.
Please note that hunters are responsible for obtaining Hawai’i hunting licenses (available online).

Axis deer at first light. Bonefish by noon. Bucks & Bones has partnered with Pu‘u O Hōkū Ranch on a three-day conservation hunt and bonefishing trip on Molokai’s quiet east end, with the historic ranch lodge as home base.
$4,100 per hunter (hunting & fishing)
Includes 3 days of guided axis deer conservation hunting on 14,000 private acres, guided bonefishing on the flats with Bucks & Bones, 2 does, and fly rods, reels and flies. Custom hunt/fish day splits and longer trips are available on request.
